⚡ 02NOV2025 - Soliciting Scissor Slicing Suggestions

A modern tech tote, handwriting help, slick camera straps, my current iPhone case set-up, and much more...

Happy Sunday everyone!

This week, I've been thoroughly enjoying Halloween, browsing through the archives of Fleuron, a 1923 journal of typography (thanks to Dan), looking forward to the release of Last Samurai Standing, reading about this 30x30 pixel camera built from an optical mouse, fretting about the state of our space program, and gearing up to play some more Print and Play games this fall.

On to the good stuff!

🎒 Evergoods 24L Tote - My favorite everyday use bag maker is out with a new structured tote bag that features their usual mix of clean lines, reliable tech textile, and smart organizational features. While I think it looks good, I'm honestly not sure if it's my style, but it looks so convenient that I'm tempted to get it just for coffee shop runs and weekend trips.

🖋️ Writey Cursive Handwriting for iPadOS - A few years back, as I was really getting into analog note taking, I realized my handwriting was terrible and decided I wanted to level up. I grabbed a copy of Barbara Getty's excellent Write Now self-study book for handwriting improvement and put in the work. It was a ton of fun and made a big difference. So naturally, I was excited to find this iPad + Pencil Pro-powered app for helping to improve your handwriting and learn things like calligraphy and flourishes.

📷 Peak Design Rope - I love my adjustable Peak Design camera straps and now they're out with a new rope-style strap that looks crazy good. Apart from looking good, the straps also feature Peak Design's awesome modular camera anchors that make it remarkably easy to swap out straps between cameras and configurations. Beyond the Rope straps, they've also got some really nice looking fixed length leather straps and a new version of their excellent Field Plate.

✂️ Hoto Tools Cordless Electric Scissors - Hoto is one of my favorite tool companies—all of their products that I own look great and function impeccably. So, I'm kind of geeking out to try their new electric scissors. Here's the catch: I don't know what I'd use them for... I could see maybe getting into cardboard craft projects at some point, but I feel like I need a lot more time first. Anyone have any recommendations?

📱 Torras Ostand Q3 Air - After about 3-4 months of going caseless on my iPhones, I finally dropped and destroyed the screen on my iPhone 17 Pro about a week into owning it. Upon getting the screen fixed, I overnighted this case from Torras to protect the new screen. I've had a few Torras cases before, and this one is my favorite—I like the air cushion bumpers, and feel like the kickstand/grip ring is the most stable yet. I also really like the look of the blue case on my Cosmic Orange.

That's it for this week. May you experience at least one incredibly pleasant breeze in the days ahead!
