⚡ 05OCT2025: Good, Rugged, Customizable

Store all your stuff in style, use Apple magic on your to-dos, a new mouse, Mechagodzilla in space, and more...

Happy Sunday, everyone!

This week, I’ve been listening to a lot of Bardcore covers of K-Pop Demon Hunters and other pop songs, trying to figure out how to get more people to see One Battle After Another, considering building my own desktop environment with Hyprland (thanks, Matthew!), playing the gorgeous in-browser game Messenger (set in what feels like a fictional small Japanese coastal town), trying to convince myself I don’t need this new drum machine from Roland (their first analog drum machine in 40 years!), and reading the first issue of Starship Godzilla. I also wrote a fun snapshot review of the Flair NEO Flex v2 over at CoffeeGeek!

On to the good stuff!

Stuff App for iOS — Stuff is a beautiful, detail-obsessed task management app for iPhone and iPad, created by indie developer Austin Blake. It has all the tools you need for a solid GTD workflow—an inbox, Today list, labels, dependencies, shared to-do lists, and even an Adventure Log to track your accomplishments. The latest update adds Apple Intelligence support, letting you snap a photo of your handwritten to-do list or speak your brain dump aloud and instantly turn it into tasks. It feels like magic.

🖱️ Logi MX Master 4 — The Logi MX Master 3 has been my go-to mouse recommendation for the past couple of years, and now there’s the newly updated MX Master 4. I grabbed one as soon as it was announced. Like the last generation, it connects to up to three devices, offers ultra-low latency, and packs more customizable buttons and scroll wheels than most people will ever need. The new version adds a haptic feedback pad that’s incredibly satisfying to use, plus a customizable Control Wheel you can summon on-screen with a button press to access quick actions. My only complaint: It's almost too quiet?

💍 Oura Ring 4 Ceramic — I’ve written before about my appreciation for the Oura Ring 3. Last year, they released the Oura Ring 4 with a slimmer, omnidirectional design and better battery life. This week, they rolled out some stunning new ceramic options. The biggest drawback of previous models was how easily they would get tarnished from daily use; the new ceramic design not only adds fun color pops but also promises far greater durability. They look fantastic. When my Gen 3 ring finally gives up the electronic ghost, I’ll probably grab one.

📂 Folder Quick Look for macOS — Most Mac users know “Quick Look”: select a file and tap the Space bar for a preview. It’s great for PDFs, photos, videos, and more—but oddly, not for folders. This simple app fixes that, letting you press Space on a folder to peek inside. Even better, it also lets you peak into the contents of compressed archives like ZIP and RAR files. Best of all? It’s free.

🍱 Sidio Crate — Sidio Crates are my favorite way to organize gear at home. I have one for all my stationery and pens, one for retro gaming handhelds and hacker toys, and another for cables and old hard drives. Could you get something functionally similar for half the price at the Container Store? Absolutely. Would it look as good, be as rugged, or customizable? Probably not. I’m linking the Amazon page above for faster delivery, but if you want to get fancy, go build your own custom crates on their site. (Thanks for the reminder, Kevin!)

That’s it for this week! Remember: Ocean waves, Bob. Ocean waves.
